One of the main factors we should be constantly aware of: Hand-to-face contact. Touching your mouth or nose with your unwashed or unsanitized hands. It enters through the nose & mouth. These masks are to protect others from you, and most importantly, to remind you not to touch your face!
If you see someone in public not wearing a mask, you are not protected from them unless they are wearing a mask. I bring an extra with me in case I have to interact with someone not wearing one!
When you need to go out, you're not always in a situation where you can wash or sanitize your hands, so it's very, very important not to touch your face. We do it all the time, without even thinking about it! (scratch your nose, bite your nails, use a toothpick, push your glasses up, fix your makeup, rub your eyes, stroke your beard, whatever)
Even if you're wearing gloves. If you touch something, then touch your face, whether it's on a glove or your hand, it's still hand-to-face.
Wearing a mask helps remind you not to touch your face!
Bottom line - don't touch your face with unwashed hands! Wear a mask to remind you. Any mask. But ours are pretty :-)
These are not N95 masks, they are cotton/rayon with a fused liner. Designed for some protection when you're not able to wash/disinfect your hands, to help protect others, and as a constant reminder to avoid touching your hands to your nose, mouth & face.
So whether it's our mask or another mask, please wear one!
Important: The proper way to remove a mask (any mask) is from behind your ears. Do not pull from the front.
